Weather Monday: drizzly start to the week before rain on Tuesday

The week will start with drizzle, but with generally positive temperatures to continue the momentum of the weekend, before the arrival of a rainy system in Quebec on Tuesday.

Monday will thus be marked by intermittent drizzle which will mainly affect the west and center of the province from the morning, as well as certain sectors of northern Quebec in the afternoon.

In Montreal and its surrounding areas, Environment Canada is forecasting cloudy weather, before an alternation of sun and clouds at midday, while the mercury will display a maximum of 13 on the thermometer.

In other areas of the west, such as Lanaudière, the Laurentides and Vaudreuil – Soulanges, the intermittent drizzle should stop in the morning to give way to an indecisive sky, still with positive temperatures varying between a maximum of 6 and 14, depending on the region.

Same story in Estrie, Drummondville and La Tuque, in central Quebec.

The National Capital will start the week cloudy, with a 30% chance of a shower in the afternoon, with a maximum of 4 degrees.

Eastern Quebec will emerge as the winner of the weather lottery on Monday, with generally sunny weather until late in the afternoon, even if the thermometer should show cooler weather, with maximums between -8 and 5 degrees, depending on the sector.

However, a wind chill could cause feelings as low as -16 in Matane and Rimouski, and as low as -23 to -25 in Nastasquan, Chevery and Blanc-Sablon.

The regions further north could receive snow during the day, including James Bay and LG Quatre – Laforge and Fontanges, according to the federal agency.
