Several regions of southern Quebec and the Gaspé tip are affected by a freezing drizzle warning in effect since Tuesday night.
The notice issued by Environment Canada concerns, in addition to Montreal and the Laurentians, western Montérégie, Outaouais, Pontiac and Témiscamingue as well as certain sectors in the east of the province.
The freezing drizzle forecast since the night should end at noon to give way to light snow in some areas.
In Montreal and Montérégie, temperatures will approach freezing, while cloudy conditions will prevail across most of the province where temperatures will be above normal for the season.
This is the case of the Capitale-Nationale and Beauce where the mercury will be milder considering the season, while in more northern areas such as Saguenay the cold will be more biting.
Intermittent light snow could also affect areas of eastern Quebec, including the Bas-Saint-Laurent with accumulations of 2 centimeters, according to the federal agency.
