April begins mildly, but a low-pressure system bearing down on Quebec will cause the mercury to drop from mid-week, thus confirming the wise adage “in April, don’t expose yourself by a thread”.
The week is therefore starting off on the right foot with variable skies almost everywhere, while in the center and east of the province more clearing is expected, according to Environment Canada.
On the other hand, in western Quebec, we could see a few snow showers, particularly in Abitibi with accumulations of 2 centimeters in places under temperatures of 3 degrees.
In Montreal and its surrounding areas, the weather will be generally cloudy with comfortable temperatures of 9 degrees in the afternoon, but the wind effect will be present in the morning, according to the federal agency.
Generally sunny weather is expected in Quebec and Saguenay, while the Estrie and Beauce sectors are affected by cloudiness with a 30% chance of showers.
The sunny weather in Eastern Quebec will not prevent the mercury from falling and stabilizing with temperatures between 3 and 5 degrees, particularly in Bas-Saint-Laurent and Gaspésie.
The beautiful sunny weather will continue Tuesday and during part of the day Wednesday across most of Quebec with the mercury still rising, except for the eastern sectors of the province.
As of Wednesday evening, gray weather will return due to a low pressure system coming from Colorado which will bring snow and rain with colder temperatures to most areas, including southern Quebec.
