Weather in Quebec: be careful, extreme cold until Saturday!

Quebecers will have to take advantage of the relative mildness during the day on Thursday before the arrival of an extreme cold wave that will affect practically the entire province by Saturday.

Environment Canada has issued an extreme cold warning that will cause temperatures to plummet into the abyss of the thermometer for at least 48 hours.

In the south and center of the province, temperatures are expected to range from -26°C to -24°C, particularly in Quebec and Montreal, while the mercury will show -29°C in Saguenay.

The sun will be present during these two days of polar cold which risks causing frostbite if your hands are less well covered.

The presence of strong winds will generate extreme wind chills that can reach values of -55°C in the northern sectors of Quebec, according to forecasts by the federal agency.

In the meantime, the weather is rather unstable with clouds and light snow showers in places, especially in the Saint-Laurent river valley and eastern Quebec.

The mercury will post comfortable temperatures of -2°C in Montreal and -5°C in Quebec, before dropping rapidly in the evening when strong winds will cause blowing snow.
