Weather conditions | Still 13,500 households without electricity

(Montreal) The situation of power outages improved in the early morning, Tuesday, among Hydro-Quebec subscribers.

At 8 a.m., some 13,500 of them remained without electricity in Quebec due to a succession of various weather conditions that swept through several regions. Four hours earlier, around 31,000 customers were in the dark.

The sometimes heavy snow fell on Monday gave way to a release blown by sometimes strong winds.

At 8 a.m. Tuesday, the regions most affected by the blackouts were the Laurentians and Lanaudière, each with just over 2,500 homes without electricity, and the Montérégie with nearly 2,150.

Environment Canada reported at the end of the night that the winds should continue to cause significant cooling on Tuesday, although their strength will gradually diminish, except in eastern Quebec where the lull will be delayed.

On Monday evening, the winds blew in gusts to sometimes 70 kilometers per hour in Montreal and Quebec.
