Three searches targeting two residences and a vehicle in the sectors of Saint-André-Avellin and Gatineau on Thursday allowed the police of the Sûreté du Québec (SQ) to get their hands on several firearms and narcotics.

The searches of two residences and a vehicle on Bélisle Street, in Saint-André-Avellin and Church Street, in Gatineau, were carried out as part of CENTAURE, the national strategy against firearms trafficking. Police seized a semi-automatic weapon, an electric pulse weapon and a telescopic baton from the scene. They also got hold of several narcotics, including two liters of GHB, more than 20 oxycodone tablets, as well as a small amount of cocaine and methamphetamine.
