As the first anniversary of their couple approaches, Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck have made revelations. While the two lovebirds seemed very fulfilled in their new relationship, the singer confessed for People, “that they were afraid“to retry the experience of getting back together given the frenzy that their first attempt had triggered almost 20 years ago.
This new confidence from the star comes a few weeks after actor and director Ben Affleck revealed that he was “hesitant“to engage again with the beautiful J-Lo, because of the impact of the cancellation of their first engagement. “Before, we exposed ourselves“, confided the star, soon to be shown in Marry Me with Owen Wilson, in reference to the media whirlwind that the couple had suffered between 2002 and 2004, before adding: “NWe were naive and got walked on a bit.“
The 52-year-old star now seems more confident that her relationship will work out now that they’re wiser. “We are so happy, and we don’t want everything to be like a game again.”, she explained before continuing: “NOTwe are older now, smarter, we have more experience, we are at different stages of our lives, we have children, and we really have to consider all these things. We’re really protecting ourselves because it’s such a beautiful time in our lives.”
Ben Affleck had declared, as for him, at howard stern last December, that he feared the pressure the media would put on his children if he resumed his relationship with Jennifer Lopez. “My responsibility to my children is of utmost importance. I don’t want to do anything painful or destructive for them (…) I know my life affects them“, explained the 49-year-old actor and director. As a reminder, he is the father of two daughters, Purple and Seraphina 16 and 12 years old, and a son, samuel 9 years old, all three born of his past union with Jennifer Garner. For her part, Jlo has two children: the twins Max and Emme, 13, born from her marriage to Marc Anthony.
