Karl Olive, deputy of Yvelines, is the guest of the “4 Truths” of France 2, Friday March 31.
Anger is still brewing against the pension reform. “We were not skilful enough to explain what the pension system is today in France, the imbalance it caused, and where we wanted to go”explains Karl Olive, MP Renaissance des Yvelines, guest of the “4 Truths” of France 2, Friday March 31. “Of the 1,200 euros for new retirees, we were not good, we were clumsy, we should have said to the French: ‘We made a mistake’. And then remember that it’s 50 euros extra for 2 million new retirees, and we couldn’t do that”he adds.
“64 years old, it’s done”
The President of the Republic half-opened a door by saying that if there had been a compromise at 63.5 years old, he might have thought about it. “It’s all going in the right direction. When the president, twice last week, says that the door is indeed open, I think we have to grasp that too”says Karl Olive.
Can there be a move on the 64 years? “Even at 64, we will still be one of the countries in Europe that retires the earliest. We can continue to adjust a certain number of things, on the arduousness, on long careers, but 64 is done”concludes the deputy of Yvelines.
