Pierre-Emmanuel Fleurantin and Vincent Mouluquet, producers of the series “De Grâce”, broadcast Thursday February 8 on Arte, return in the Franceinfo Talk on the refusal of the dockers of Le Havre to host the filming of their fiction, which offered a first major role for Panayotis Pascot.

We were in contact with dockers and in fact we were a little caught up in reality.” explains Pierre-Emmanuel Fleurantin, one of the two producers of the series De Grâce, broadcast on Arte TV and which offers a raw dive intos the world of dockers in the port of Le Havre with cocaine trafficking in the background, with Panayotis Pascot in the first major role.

“There was a docker who was murdered while we were writing, continues Pierre-Emmanuel Fleurantin. The dockers’ union has an aversion to journalists and equates the work of fiction and that of screenwriters with that of journalists’ work. They did not want to let us access the port of Le Havre.”

“Not having access to the port of Le Havre was not a big deal: we were able to film in the city, in all its splendor, and we finally filmed on the docks of Antwerp.”

“These little manufacturing problems should not stop us, adds Vincent Mouluquet, co-producer of the series. We were keen to pay tribute to a corporation, to a city which suffered in its flesh and to show that this area is gray, and that it is not a question of overwhelming a corporation like that of the dockers, that everything is possible and that it was necessary to show, precisely, this complexity.”
