“We want players who love the club, who love to fight”, Nasser Al-Khelaïfi is beefing up his game

It is a rare speech that was eagerly awaited by Paris-Saint-Germain supporters. Nasser Al-Khelaïfi has finally spoken. And the least we can say is that he had a lot to say and specify the president of PSG. The strong man of the Parisian club for 11 years now gave the Parisian newspaper an interview of about an hour. Returning from Qatar on Monday, Nasser Al-Khelaïfi discussed many topics around the hot news of the capital club.

“We never spoke with Zidane”

The president of Paris SG Nasser Al-Khelaïfi claims to have “never discussed” with Zinédine Zidane for the coaching position and confirms discussions to recruit Christophe Galtier, the current Nice coach. The leader then clarified “we never spoke with him, neither directly nor indirectly”without ruling out that other personalities from Qatar have approached the former N.10 of the Blues: “When I say ‘we’, it’s PSG. Me, I’m the president of PSG and I’ve never discussed with him.”

Consequently, “we chose a coach who will be the best for what we want to put in place”said the Qatari leader, confirming the discussions with the current Nice coach, Christophe Galtier. “I hope we will find an agreement quickly, but I respect Nice and President Jean-Pierre Rivère, everyone defends their interests”, he added.

“We don’t want flashy, bling-bling anymore, it’s the end of glitter!”

In this interview, the Parisian president also mentions the arrival of sports adviser Luis Campos “he will inculcate the culture of work and give the maximum every day”. The Parisian president then assured that a turn is being taken by the club, eager to get rid of “flashy, bling-bling, it’s the end of glitter” and specify:

Maybe we should change our slogan… Dream Bigger (dream bigger), it’s good but today, we must above all be realistic, we no longer want flashy, bling-bling, it’s the end of glitter. We have done great things for eleven years, but each year, we have to ask ourselves how to progress, how to be better.

And the leader then clarified his point “we want players who love the club, who love to fight, who love to win. And we want that mentality to spread throughout the club.”

It remains to be seen whether this speech will be followed by action. Some supporters are skeptical and are already pointing out on social networks that 3 years ago at the same time President Nasser Al-Khelaïfi had made the same outing…
