Promote biathlon

Bérangère Hours is an instructor at the ESF de la Féclaz and she supervises this initiation into rifle shooting. She wants to promote a sport that is still too little known among the general public.

“A few years ago, when we said biathlon, people did not know. They evoke two sports, but they do not know which ones. There, we can already see that people know a little better. not necessarily report. laser shooting is not bad for people to discover, but we are still very far from the practice of biathlon. There is not all the sensation with the sound of the ball, the relaxation, the wind. What we advise is on our different stadiums like at La Féclaz and often, we quickly get caught up in this activity because it’s fun and it’s nice to see the targets go blank. “

Some tips for beginners

Rémi is also an instructor at the ESF de la Féclaz for this winter. Don’t panic if you’ve never practiced rifle shooting, here are some tips to get started.

“I already think that you have to have a good knowledge of yourself, to manage your body and your emotions, because it is very important, when I arrive on my shooting range, to know how to come down, recover, catch your breath, put your mind back in shooting mode because that it is something that is ultra precise. Biathlon, when I shoot 50 meters, I shoot in a circle that is 4 centimeters in diameter. So, one can imagine the difficulty. These efforts are also very high intensity. So it’s really something global, both physically and mentally. “
