“We still have the spark” -Joel Edmundson

Injured in the back and bereaved by the death of his father, Joel Edmundson participated in only his 16th game this season. He didn’t have to endure the first catastrophic months. Number 44 didn’t take a detour to describe this 5-1 loss against the Blue Jackets.

“We were looking for games that were too lacy, we weren’t very smart. There were a lot of reversals. We really need to play better, communicate better on the ice and limit turnovers. »

–Joel Edmundson

Edmundson isn’t afraid of running out of steam after two months under Martin St-Louis.

“We still have the spark. We still love coming to the arena. You come to the arena and you learn something new. We try to improve every day. We just can’t give up that many shots. »

–Joel Edmundson

Ryan Poehling scored CH’s only goal in this setback. He redirected a Nick Suzuki shot into Elvis Merzlikins’ net on the power play. He was relieved to finally get a goal.

“Yes, it’s good to score. At this point in the game, at the end of the second period, it brought us back into the game. It brought life back into the locker room. It was good. But we have to play at 100% of our abilities. There are still eight or nine games to play [8] on the calendar. You have to find consistency. »

–Ryan Poehling

Brad Larsen, head coach of the Blue Jackets, enjoyed Nick Blankenburg’s first game in the NHL.

“You can see immediately that he wants to defend his territory. He stands in the lines of fire, he blocks shots [5 tirs bloqués]. »
