Alexis Corbière, LFI deputy for Seine-Saint-Denis, was the guest of “4 Vérités” on France 2, Friday October 20.

The Socialist Party suspended its participation in the Nupes against a backdrop of crisis in the Middle East and disagreement over the Hamas attack of October 7. “I have carefully read the resolutions of the Socialist Party or even those of the Communist Party: they do not say that we must stop the union. They call for things to be organized differently. If I were in a situation of management of La France insoumise, […] I think we need to take our pilgrim’s staff and put everyone back around a table to see in what conditions we continue.”explains Alexis Corbière, LFI deputy for Seine-Saint-Denis, guest of “4 Vérités” on France 2, Friday October 20.

“We must avoid moments of division”

Why should the Nupes union continue? “Because we think, and I continue to think, since 2022 in particular, that we need to come together to be in the second round [de la présidentielle de 2027, ndlr] and take it away. In this situation of tripolarization of political life, of an extreme right which remains quite high, we must avoid moments of division. It’s not easy, it has to be done with difficulty.”notes Alexis Corbière.
