“We really need safeguards” to the National Assembly “to prevent [Emmanuel Macron] to do anything and everything”, launches Saturday April 30 on franceinfo Laurent Jacobelli, spokesperson for the National Rally, less than two months before the legislative elections. The party intends to present a candidate in each constituency: “Each member of the National Rally will be like a bulwark against the policy of Emmanuel Macron, retired at 65, social breakdown, insecurity and mass immigration”he explains.
To do this, Laurent Jacobelli calls for “vote massively” in June during these elections in order not to “not leave full powers to Emmanuel Macron for five more years”. “The first five-year term was a warm-up, now he could be freewheeling, because he won’t be able to run again”he points out.

Laurent Jacobelli does not close his voice to any agreement with the party of Éric Zemmour or Les Républicains: “In the second round, if we are not present, in some cases we will withdraw for the best placed patriotic candidate”, he says. However, he describes the LR party as”odd”trapped in “device games” : “There are people who only dream of one thing, which is to work with Emmanuel Macron, and others who only dream of one thing, which is to apply the policy advocated by Marine Le Pen. “says the spokesperson for the National Rally.
Asked about the ongoing negotiations between the various left-wing parties, with a view to these legislative elections, Laurent Jacobelli considers these discussions“incomprehensible” : “They try to combine people who are for nuclear power and others who are against it, people who are for the European Union and people who want to get out of it, all of this is ideological gobbledygook”, he complains. He believes that these negotiations give “an image of electoral tampering, which the French no longer want”.
Laurent Jacobelli judge “difficult the majority vote in two rounds” and denounce the“aberration of the current system”. But he remains optimistic about the idea of obtaining more deputies than in 2017, betting on “implantation” of the party in many territories: “23,000 municipalities have put Marine Le Pen in the lead, around fifty departments”, he says. For the RN spokesperson, compared to previous legislative elections, “Emmanuel Macron is no longer this smiling young man full of promise”. He accuses her of being “the man who sent the police against the ‘yellow vests’, who destroyed our health system, who created 400,000 additional poor French people”.
