Guest of 19/20 info, Monday April 29, the mayor of Viry-Châtillon, Jean-Marie Vilain, reacts to the consultations initiated by Gabriel Attal with the different political parties to discuss ways to respond to the scourge of violence among part of the youth.

Prime Minister Gabriel Attal began, on the evening of Monday April 29, consultations with the different political parties to discuss his proposals to stem the violence of a section of youth. These meetings were announced on April 18 in Viry-Châtillon (Essonne), after the death of Shemseddine. Should we see these new consultations as a waste of time, when it is a problem that has already been identified? Guest of 19/20 info Monday evening, the mayor of Viry-Châtillon, Jean-Marie Vilain, believes that“we don’t waste time when we try to find solutions for our young people”.

No “miracle solution”

Consider these consultations as a waste of time, “that would mean that we give up and that, in any case, there is either no hope at all, or that someone has a magic wand and is going to pull it out to find us the miracle solution. I don’t believe it for a single moment.”explains Jean-Marie Vilain. “We need consultation and, if the people who meet our representatives are in the process of making proposals, if we also listen to them, perhaps we can move forward”he concludes.
