Environmentalist senator Mélanie Vogel is the guest of 19/20 info on Tuesday June 11. The elected official believes that the results of the European elections must be taken into account in the agreement between the left for the legislative elections.
The political sphere has been in turmoil since the dissolution of the National Assembly decided by Emmanuel Macron on Sunday June 9, in the face of the victory of the National Rally in the European elections. Monday evening, the main left-wing forces managed to agree to form a “New Popular Front”. “I am hopeful that (the negotiations) will be successful”assures Mélanie Vogel, environmentalist senator for French people outside France, in the 19/20 info of Tuesday June 11.
Concerning the distribution of constituencies, where only one candidate must therefore be presented, Mélanie Vogel believes that the result of the last elections, where the PS came in first, must be taken into account. “It’s obvious, this had already been the case in 2022 (…) of course that changes the data with which each party arrives at the negotiating table”, she explains. Without going to a “balance of power”, “we must take into account what happened”underlines the senator.
