On the occasion of the release of François Molins’ memoirs, entitled “In the name of the French people”, the former public prosecutor is the guest of 12/13 info, Monday February 26.
Former public prosecutor François Molins entered the lives of the French during the terrorist attacks which hit the country in recent years. He published his memoirs, entitled In the name of the French people (Flammarion editions). In total, the former prosecutor held 55 impromptu press conferences when tension was at its height, with a neutral and concise tone.
“Everything was done down to the comma, it was collective work. Why this tone, why this phrasing? Because the words of a prosecutor are something special. A prosecutor must obey ethical rules, and he must deliver a word that is clear, precise, objective and neutral”explains François Molins in 12/13 info, Monday February 26.
“I am very moved during these press briefings”
Although he tried to remain neutral, the former public prosecutor was not devoid of emotion during his press conferences. “I am very moved during these press briefings, even stunned at the beginning of some of them. But emotion, you also have to know how to keep it to yourself. You must not let yourself be carried away by your affects when you are magistrate”he says. “When you are a magistrate, (…) it is reason that must govern the decisions you make”summarizes François Molins.
