“We have to move from words to deeds”estimated Saturday, May 21 on franceinfo Yves Veyrier, secretary general of Force Ouvrière (FO), commenting on the speech of Bruno Le Maire who keeps his post at the Ministry of the Economy, Finance, Industrial and Digital Sovereignty.

The tenant of Bercy emphasized the increase in wages, a speech which “going in the right direction”according to Yves Veyrier, who tempers: “We have heard him say that for two years”. He deplores the absence of a boost from the government for an increase in the minimum wage.

Regarding the appointment of Olivier Dussopt as Minister of Labour, Yves Veyrier believes that “the ministry of labor is, by definition, in a way, the ministry of social dialogue”, since there are regular exchanges with the social partners. The trade unionist recalls that Olivier Dussopt has been in charge of public accounts for the past five years (as Secretary of State from 2017 to 2020, then as Minister Delegate from 2020 to 2022). “Our comrades in the civil service and finance have not kept the memory of a minister very inclined to social dialogue”according to the secretary general of FO.

Yves Veyrier also fears that the discussions will go “not in a good way” with a minister “who has the experience of managing the economy as accurately as possible in the public accounts”in particular on the question of the revaluation of salaries in the public service.
