“We have the impression that the only obsession of the left is to know who will be the leader,” deplores the Minister Delegate Frédéric Valletoux.

The Minister Delegate for Health and Horizons MP says he is in favour of forming a “majority on the projects”, but without the RN and Insoumis MPs.

While the leaders of the New Popular Front continue to negotiate to propose a name for Prime Minister to Emmanuel Macron, Frédéric Valletoux, Minister Delegate for Health, stated on Saturday July 13 on France Inter that he “finds it completely normal and almost healthy” that these discussions “take a few days”.

“In some democracies, they take a few weeks or a few months.”adds the man who was re-elected last Sunday as Horizons MP for Seine-et-Marne. Frédéric Valletoux regrets that said that the discussions are centered around this name: “It seems that the only obsession is to know who will be the leader”he deplores. The Minister Delegate considers that it would have been preferable to “working on the project”. He invites the left to review its “program in order to attract other groups, other deputies”before embarking on discussions around the “casting” of the future government.

Frédéric Valletoux believes that “The left would gain from reassuring the French if they show that they are capable of coordinating, of organizing a majority”. But he considers that the New Popular Front finds itself facing a “difficulty” main one, that of not having “absolute majority”The Minister Delegate adds that this is compounded by the fact that the “groups [parlementaires] are not [encore] constituted” and “no one can say for sure” how many deputies does such a group have? “Perhaps within the left-wing coalition, the socialists may manage to have a larger group than the Insoumis (…) all this will be fixed in the middle of the week”he says.

The Horizons MP is also in favour of the creation of a “majority on projects” and shows openness to “working with those who share the same republican values” what “excludes the National Rally and the Insoumis deputies”. “We need to continue to discuss to see if with the LR, and possibly some left-wing deputies who would understand that with the Insoumis they are at an impasse, we can build a majority which, during the end of this five-year term, can ensure that our country takes very concrete action in some areas”he says.
