“We have more than enough FFP2 masks for caregivers,” says the general rapporteur of the Social Security financing law

Faced with the circulation of the Omicron variant and the new wave of Covid-19, the wearing of the FFP2 mask has been made, and this since December 25, 2021, mandatory in Italy. This mask is considered to be much more effective than the surgical mask, since it offers its users a filtering capacity of 94% of fine and toxic particles of 0.6 micrometers.

In France, do we have sufficient quantities of this type of mask, if the health authorities decide to make them compulsory? “We have more than enough for caregivers” declared, Monday January 3 in “Your political moment” on the channel franceinfo, Thomas Mesnier, LREM deputy from Charente and general rapporteur for the Social Security financing law.

The latter, facing the LFI deputy Manuel Bompard who criticized “the all-vaccine strategy” government, added that “if the recommendations” health authorities “had to change, we would see to make it accessible”, not giving more details on the stocks of FFP2 masks.
