“We Europeans”. Short circuits: and now, the flowers! – France 3 – June 19, 2022

Major reportage, guests and European news are featured in the magazine We Europeans” (Twitter), presented by Eléonore Gay and broadcast on Sundays at 10:40 a.m. on France 3, as well as late Thursday evenings on France 2. For this new issue of season 3, head to UKparadise for garden lovers, where a new trend was born: seasonal flowers, produced locally, are attracting more and more customers.

All over Europe, short circuits have been talked about a lot during the pandemic because seasonal products promote the local economy and reduce the impact of transport in particular. Young companies are now launching into markets that may seem surprising, such as locally produced prawns! And the trend does not only concern purchases by individuals: companies are getting organized to produce their own raw materials, particularly in the cosmetics sector.

United Kingdom: the boom in local flowers

> THE GREAT REPORT
There are three things in life that the British revere: tea, the Queen of England and… gardening. Just look at the small village of Putley in the English countryside. That day is “open gardens”. And today, the movement of local flowers seems well on its way to hatching. The turnover of British producers has even soared by 50% in just three years.
A report by Julien Bigard and Guillaume Beaufils.
