But he did not see a psychiatrist, and no medication was prescribed. This is really a case where we escaped the case of Mr. Tremblay, ”lamented his lawyer, Ms.e Diane Chartier, during the sentencing.

Detained since March 2021 for this sordid story, Samuel Tremblay was sentenced to two years less a day in prison on 1er last June, at the Montreal courthouse. The 22-year-old pleaded guilty to counts of assaulting a child, forcible confinement and willfully killing and maiming a dog.

Criminal history

Taken into play by the police and pursued at high speed because of his dangerous driving, the driver came close to mowing down pedestrians on rue Saint-Denis. Another motorist then heroically blocked his way with his vehicle to save passers-by. The driver had used Xanax and GHB that day.

During his appearance in 2019, Samuel Tremblay’s mother then told the media that her son was abandoned by the health system. “I’ve been fighting for years to get my son taken care of,” she said. The Press. Samuel Tremblay was followed from the age of 2 until his majority, but no one can “put their finger on” his illness, according to his lawyer.

Three years later, Samuel Tremblay has still not been taken care of by the health system, even if, in the report on his criminal responsibility, the experts strongly suggest that he be seen by a psychiatrist. However, Samuel Tremblay is “placed in a cage” at the Rivière-des-Prairies prison in “very, very tight” confinement, at his request, denounces his lawyer.

“He did not receive treatment while in detention, he did not see a doctor, he did not see a psychiatrist. Regardless of the sentence, we can hope that Monsieur, when he leaves, will knock on the right door, ”lamented his lawyer during the hearing.

It’s amazing to see the doors close on him, as he went to ask for help. He knows his danger.
