France Bleu Breizh Izel: does the arrival of Martín Satriano correspond to a need on the offensive level?
Gregory Lorenzi: It’s true that for some time, we’ve been wondering with the coach whether we couldn’t improve that sector. Given some of the things we were seeing, I think it was also necessary to be able to add an extra touch and also bring some competition. When we had this opportunity, we necessarily jumped on it. It’s not easy in this transfer window to be able to find players ready to come. These are touch-up transfer windows. When you have little means, inevitably these are players either in lack of playing time or in conflict with their club. And today we had this opportunity with Martín to be able to make his arrival a reality and it happened quickly.
Should we expect other movements before January 31?
Not at all. You know, we don’t necessarily have the capacity to completely change the team, which is not what we want. The financial means do not allow us to bring anything else, unless of course players were to leave and in these cases, we would make sure to be able to replace them numerically because we will necessarily have a return of money . But today we expect our transfer window to be very calm.
You imply that there could be departures. Are there still discussions about Romain Faivre?
No, we see that there are very, very few movements. Very few clubs have opportunities to invest. So for the moment we are rather calm. Now, if tomorrow there should be a fairly large offer for Romain – or for another player because I think he’s not the only one to be attracted by other teams – we’ll let you know when the time comes.
For you, is there a frustrating side to doing a transfer window without a financial envelope?
You know, it’s my sixth season so we’re used to it. I’m not going to say it’s frustrating because when you’re Brest you don’t necessarily expect to splurge. You should know that we are also in a financial crisis which is not easy for us, so we do with our means, we try to do things differently. We shouldn’t cry over his fate, I think we have a squad that has shown in the first part of the season that it is capable of playing a role in this championship, compared to our goal of maintaining it. We did some good things, there are also things that we would like to erase but once again I think that we have the group to be able to save ourselves and we will already be very happy with this objective.
