“We did it because the time is serious”said Monday June 10 on franceinfo Marine Tondelier, national secretary of the Ecologists, while the various left-wing parties are calling for “the constitution of a new popular front” and to “unique applications from the first round” early legislative elections.
This agreement between the left-wing parties, “we are committed to doing this”assures Marine Tondelier, while Emmanuel Macron has, according to her, “completely destabilized the country, no one expected it, we can see where it could lead us”.
She believes that the prospect of having Jordan Bardella, the boss of the RN, as Prime Minister “would be terrible for many French people, for our country, for its values, for what the people who live there could suffer in the months and years that follow”. “So we take our responsibilities and we are going to create: unique candidates from the left and environmentalists throughout France”insists Marine Tondelier.
The national secretary of Ecologists does not see “of obstacles” to the realization of unique applications but “work” : “There are more than 500 constituencies in France. You have to look at them one by one.” She assures that “everyone seems to agree that where there are outgoing candidates, they must be supported”. But there are the constituencies “lost last time”. They will be “watched one by one”.
Marine Tondelier also mentions “work on the project” that the left parties want “propose for the next two years, for the first 100 days, to create a lot of hope among the French”. “We have talked a lot about the flame of the National Rally. We want to rekindle the flame of hope among the French.”
Faced with the deadline imposed by the decision of the President of the Republic, “fairly intense work meetings await us in the hours and days to come”adds Marine Tondelier. “It will go very quickly. But count on us, we will get there. We are committed, we will get there.”
