“We consulted on the left, on the right to find voices of agreement”, assures Olivier Véran

The National Assembly begins the examination of the bill on purchasing power, Monday, July 18. Is the executive ready to compromise on fuel prices? “Are we ready to move in general? Yes. Is the government maneuvering to try to avoid further parliamentary setbacks? “All weekend, the phones heated up all over the place, we consulted left, right […] to find voices of agreement and be able to tell the opposition that we want to work with them”assures Olivier Véran.

The government spokesman takes several examples to illustrate the outstretched hand of the executive. “A communist example, on small agricultural pensions, we are talking about it with the group’s president, André Chassaigne. With the right, we are discussing methods for better recognition of overtime, or the redemption of a time savings account. We are also working with all the parliamentary groups on the funding of local authorities”explains Olivier Véran.
