“We can’t get over it”, testifies Kenzo’s mother

The child, who suffers from cancer, realized a dream by attending the OM match, his favorite team, in Ajaccio. He was molested by Corsican supporters

“He opens his bag and takes out his shirt. At the same time the Ajaccio supporters come downstairs and shout: ‘The son of a bitch, he has the OM shirt, we have to fuck him'”tells France Bleu Provence on Sunday June 4, Amandine, the mother of Kenzo, 8, suffering from cancer, and attacked on Saturday evening by supporters of Ajaccio, on the sidelines of the meeting between the ACA and OM , at the François-Coty stadium in Ajaccio.

>> Fearing violence, the mayor of Ajaccio had asked for the cancellation of the match

Kenzo and his parents were present in the box. The little boy had come to the stadium wearing an OM jersey following the“initiative of the Rotary Club and the president of Air Corsica”. The Marseille child – a resident of Roquefort-la-Bédoule, in the Bouches-du-Rhône – had indeed expressed his dream of meeting the Olympian players during the reception at the François-Coty stadium of the association Des coccinelles rouges for Thomas, at the end of April, an association of which Kenzo is a member, which aims to improve the conditions of hospitalization of children with cancer.

“Here we burned you, son of a bitch”

“We can’t get over it”, says Amandine, still shocked. She then explains that the Corsican supporters have come up. “You’re talking about my son. Are you kidding?” The mother then replies to them before adding: “He’s an eight-year-old kid who’s here to make his dreams come true because he has cancer”. She then pushes one of the supporters so that he does not come in but the latter “push back”. Amandine falls and is walked on:

“There were 15 of them so I couldn’t do anything.”

She claims they opened the door to the dressing room. “My husband was in front of the door, they punched him twice in the face. They then pushed my son, he fell and his face hit the iron bar of the seat”, she continues. The attackers have “ripped off the jerseys and burned them”, by declaring: “Here we burned you, son of a bitch”.

The mayor of Ajaccio, Stéphane Braggia, expressed his “full support” to the family on Twitter and voiced those fears on “a disturbing loss of values”.

For its part, the club AC Ajaccio (ACA) condemns, in a press release published on Sunday, these “unspeakable acts” and ensure that he “will shed light on these shameful acts. As soon as the individuals have been identified by our services, we will file a complaint against them”.

A journalist from France 3 Corse Via Stella had been attacked by Marseille supporters while he was parked at a gas station near the stadium. The director of the France 3 network Philippe Martinetti announced that he had filed a complaint. Two investigations have been opened for “violence in meetings” by the Ajaccio prosecution to shed light on these two cases.
