“For 15 years, our actions have not been upgraded, but as the costs increase, we can no longer cope”, alert Thursday April 4 Gaëlle Cannat, co-president of the collective of “Angry Liberal Nurses”. This collective and two unions in the profession are calling on the 130,000 liberal nurses to demonstrate at 11 a.m., departing from Place de la Bastille in Paris. They ask to be received by the Minister of Health. In mid-February, they had already organized snail operations throughout France to sound the alarm.

Gaëlle Cannat explains that the most basic care is the one that private nurses perform the most, but it is also the one that is least well paid: “We will, for example, have an injection which will be paid 7.25 euros gross all inclusive with transport etc. We will have around 3 euros left in our pocket. Knowing that I spend about a quarter of an hour on an injection, it’s not profitable at all.” explains the co-president of the collective.

“We do it because people need to be treatedshe confides, that said, there are firms that no longer do them. That’s why we’re going to Paris, we want to raise awareness about the situation which is dramatic for nurses.” In addition to Paris, other gatherings are also planned elsewhere in France.
