On Tuesday March 12, the National Assembly voted on the bilateral security agreement concluded by France with Ukraine. “We are putting the necessary money on the table and responding to a situation that is becoming more and more dramatic”explains Renew Europe MEP Bernard Guetta on franceinfo.

According to him, if the European Union cannot deliver weapons it is not a lack of will, “the production of munitions and weapons in the 27 countries of the European Union has been slowed down for 20 or 25 years, there is a considerable delay”he explains.

For now “Ukrainians do not have enough weapons to face Russia’s advance”believes the MEP who specifies that France has “promised F-16 planes, they should arrive in a month or two. They should have arrived already”. He also points out the lack of ammunition on the ground.

According to the European scholar, “Vladimir Putin must suffer such a scathing military setback for him to convince himself that he is not going to win this war, for him to see that people around him are starting to ask questions” to be brought into real negotiations.
