Boris Vian’s repertoire will be at the heart of this show with many entities that will be brought together on the stage of the Théâtre de Caen. The musicians of the Symphonie de Poche directed by Nicolas Simon, but also the children of the Maitrise de Caen, and 2 singers the baritone Arnaud Marzorati and the soprano Maïlys de Villoutreys.
They will also be joined by students from the Lechanteur college in Caen. A 5th grade class “The PVC Symphony” worked to create musical instruments all in PVC such as tubas, clarinets or flutes.
To compose the show, it was necessary to choose among the 500 songs signed by Boris Vian. Classics such as “La java des bombes atomics”, “Faut rigoler” or “We are not here to be yelled at, which gives the title to the show, will be performed on stage. But also lesser known ones, such as “Fly away” or “La cantata of the boxes”. And even some which had not been set to music during Boris Vian’s lifetime!
