“We are in a race to get there”, says Philippe Poutou, guest of France Inter this Sunday, January 30, presidential candidate for the NPA (New Anti-Capitalist Party). He concedes about his candidacy that “it was not planned like that” but he explains “that it was better if it was a face already known”.
On the question of sponsorships, he does not hide his concern: “we are at 250 promises, it is absolutely necessary to reach 500”. The closing of sponsorships is scheduled for March 4. “We are in a race to get there., he said. We absolutely have to be present in the final phase.”.
“What can radically change society are social struggles” Judge Philippe Poutou. According to him, “the left is on the left during election campaigns and it is on the right when it comes to power.” The NPA’s candidacy is that of “activists” he assures. “We want to create ideas of revolt against this system.”
He also returned to the Popular Primary, the results of which will be known this Sunday, January 30 at the end of the day. Philippe Poutou was not retained in the list of candidates. “We did not ask to participate” he said. If he applauds the idea of bringing the left together, “You have to know which left we are discussing. Unity yes, but where and with whom?, he wonders. The primary does not pose all these problems, there are no debates.
He also strongly criticizes Christiane Taubira, considered a favorite in this popular Primary: “Taubira cannot protect the left”, accusing him of having been “with Macron, Valls” and to have “supported the labor law”. According to him, “there is everything and anything on the left”, “the PS is no longer the left”. He fights for “a much more combative left”.
