Richard Martineau deplored the fact that Bin Laden had become the darling of many young people wokized.
In a letter written in 2002, the mastermind of the attacks on the twin towers of the World Trade Center argued that the United States and the Jews were responsible for all the ills of the Middle East.
Having gone viral, his letter is now gospel for many young people.
Falsehoods
Discouraging, distressing, but not surprising.
For a young woke person, the West is always wrong and anyone who says they are oppressed by it is necessarily telling the truth.
These young people were in childbirth or in their mother’s womb in 2001 and, since then, have made TikTok – where they read that these attacks were organized by the Mossad or the CIA – their primary source of information.
In 2020, Americans aged 18 to 39 were surveyed.
Some 63% did not know that 6 million Jews were murdered during the Holocaust.
More than half of respondents thought the figure was around 2 million.
Nearly half were unable to name a single concentration or extermination camp.
Auschwitz? What?
Some 7% of respondents were unsure whether the Holocaust had occurred and 3% flatly denied its existence.
Not surprising when we consider the catastrophic state of history teaching throughout the West, and the havoc wreaked by lies and conspiracy on social networks.

The simple passage of time also plays its role.
As Tasha Kheiriddin noted in the National Postmy generation grew up with landmark films like Schindler’s List (1993) or Sophie’s choice (1982), antiques for today’s young people.
When we were 20, Kheiriddin notes, what did we know about the Boer War (1899-1902)?
A young person today grows up in an environment where he only hears about the suffering of the Palestinians.
For me, Israel was a small desert country surrounded by enemies who wanted to wipe it off the map, the result of a plan adopted by the UN, aimed at partially reparating the Holocaust.
For many young people, Israel is a colonizing power, coming from this hated West, supported by the evil Americans, which oppresses the Palestinians, responsible for nothing, exonerated from all blame.
They surely know that 700,000 Palestinians went into exile when Israel was born.
How many know that there is practically nothing left of the 800,000 Jews who inhabited Arab countries at the same time?
Anti-Semitism
Some 80% of Americans (the figures should be similar for Canadians), all ages, believe that Hamas is a terrorist organization.
This percentage drops to 59% among 18-24 year olds. More than half of these young people believe that the terrible Hamas attack of October 7 was “justified by Palestinian grievances.”
Obviously, on social networks, the pro-Palestinian point of view is ultra-predominant, which also explains the meteoric rise in anti-Semitism.
We are marching into a new dark age.
