On a surprise visit to kyiv, Ukraine, on Tuesday October 25, German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier renounced all illusions concerning Russia. In his address to the German people, he warned: “We are ahead of difficult years. The dividends of peace have been swallowed up. An era of headwinds is beginning for Germany”. To overcome these hardships, the president calls for the union of the nation.

For his part, the new British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak has announced that he will not be going to COP27. After a COP26 organized in Scotland, he believes that his country has made enough efforts and that his presence is not necessary at the next climate meeting. So far, no major leader has confirmed his visit to COP27, scheduled for early November, in Egypt.
