The new Minister of National Education announces the creation of 150 additional positions dedicated to the policy of preventing and combating harassment.

“We go further” in the fight against school bullying, said Tuesday February 13 on France Inter Nicole Belloubet, new Minister of National Education, the day after a trip to Reims (Marne) devoted to this scourge. It notably highlights actions “prevention, detection and treatment”.
The minister recalls the results of a major national survey carried out in November, which shows that “more than one student per class is on average the victim of school bullying”. Nicole Belloubet believes that we “can’t accept” this verdict. So she hears “accentuate” on the fight against school bullying, a theme for which the government had already called for general mobilization at the start of the school year. “We must not cover this with a cloak that prevents us from seeing reality,” she insists.
Creation of dedicated positions
Faced with the conclusions of this study, Nicole Belloubet mentions several measures. She thus specifies that this “harassment barometer will be conducted each year to measure the extent of the phenomenon in schools, colleges and high schools”. The new Minister of National Education also affirms that 150 additional positions will be created and dedicated to this policy of prevention and fight against harassment. She maintains that these “positions are complementary” in order to “allow, in academies and departments, to coordinate all the actions carried out”. Nicole Belloubet thus recalls that “in establishments, staff are expressly trained in this fight, this identification and this treatment of harassment”.
The minister also returns to the “additional compensation of 1 250 euros” from which will benefit “school nurses and social workers who are engaged in the fight against bullying” school. Questioned by a listener, school social worker, Nicole Belloubet says “hear requests for revaluation” more general aspect of this profession. She also promises that she will have “announcements to be made on this subject soon”.
