“We are a quiet village, it creates trauma”, testifies the mayor of Puyravault where a body was found

Two bodies were found Friday evening and Saturday morning in Virson and Puyravault (Charente-Maritime), where one of the suspects indicted for “murders” comes from, more than three months after the disappearance of the couple in the Two -Sevres.

“The identities of the victims have not been formally established at this time”, indicates the public prosecutor of Poitiers, even if everything suggests that the two bodies found on Friday March 3 and Saturday March 4 in Charente-Maritime are indeed those of Leslie and Kevin. The couple, aged 21 and 22, had been missing since the end of November in Deux-Sèvres, near Niort.

These discoveries were possible thanks to the elements collected during the hearings of the three men placed in police custody this week, the third suspect having been indicted on Saturday for “murders”. The first body, that of a man, was discovered Friday evening at the end of a dead end road. “I saw men in white jumpsuits so I thought there was something serious, remembers a neighbour, who lives about a hundred meters from this place where farmers deposit rubble and plants there. We’re scared, especially since we’re isolated in this street, we wonder how it’s possible?!”

A discreet suspect who “had left the house quite young”

This body was found in Puyravault where belongings belonging to the couple had been found, in a container for recycling clothes, in early December. It is also the town of origin of Nathan Badji, 22, indicted this week for “murder”. “Among the people from the town that I have met for a few days, very few knew him perfectly, explains Raymond Desille, the mayor of this village of 700 inhabitants. He had left home quite young and came back to see his parents from time to time. I haven’t seen him for years. It creates a little trauma all the same, we are a quiet village where there is a certain quality of life and in terms of incivility, not much happens.

“I have a son who is the same age, so I imagine the situation for the parents.”

Thierry Pillaud, the mayor of Virson

The amazement is the same five kilometers away, in the town of Virson, where a female body was discovered on Saturday morning in a wood, in the hamlet of Les Haies, where the mayor Thierry Pillaud lives.
a place, again isolated. “These are young people who were found in our town, it’s upsetting. The population is surprised, a little taken aback, especially knowing that they are young people.”

The indications of the three men placed in police custody were sufficiently precise, the investigators did not need to use construction machinery or dogs to find these two bodies, which will be autopsied at the beginning of the week.
