“We always try to bring life to what we do” says Clément Vidal

Holder against Nîmes last Saturday, Vidal has, like Krasso, Nouri, or even Bayala, obtained an opportunity. His uncrossed header grazed the crossbar in the 79th minute.

Certainly winners, the aceists missed several opportunities to worsen the score and therefore to kill the suspense… but also to improve their goal difference (+11 after 30 days, or 26 goals scored for 15 conceded, editor’s note). This may be decisive at the end of the championship, as the gap at the top of the classification is small between the teams still in the race for Ligue 1 (see below).

Be that as it may, the ACA can be satisfied, firstly, to have regained victory, at home, after two games without, and above all to have still managed to keep a clean sheet, and this for the ten -ninth time in the 2021-2022 season. In addition, the results of the competitors lately (defeat of Toulouse on March 12, defeat of Paris FC on March 15 and draw of the latter last Saturday) allow the 2021 autumn champion to pick up a small point behind Paris, and keep Toulouse within range. The last day against TéFéCé could also attract people to François Coty.

“It’s going to be 8 finals”

“We know that we are in the final sprint, it is up to us to give everything”, Explain Clement Vidal. “I think we work well on a daily basis. We work a lot, and that’s the most important thing. I think we have a group that lives well. We try not to doubt, to always put life into what we do, and that’s what pays off this season.”

Regarding the end-of-season calendar, the number 15 from Ajaccio remains cautious, but still determined to achieve a goal that is closer than ever.

“We say to ourselves that we have already played the “biggest in the championship”, even if Toulouse and Le Havre remain soon (36th day for François Coty, editor’s note.) But we have seen that it is a very complicated championship, like with the PFC losing 3-0 against Nancy. All games are difficult, and sometimes going to play against teams at the bottom of the table is even harder, because they are teams that are fighting for their survival. we have 8 games left, it will be 8 finals, and it would be a bad thing to think that the calendar is easy”.
