(Washington) American police on Wednesday lifted the evacuation order from the Capitol, the seat of Congress in Washington, after reporting a few minutes earlier a potential air threat.

“The Capitol was evacuated as a precaution tonight. There is no threat,” the police said, promising “more information to come.”
The reasons for this evacuation remain unknown for the moment.
The number of people present in the precinct was likely limited, as the Senate and House of Representatives were not in session.
The building, a symbol of American democracy, has remained extremely guarded since the forcible entry on January 6, 2021, of supporters of Donald Trump who came to denounce the result of the presidential election which brought Democrat Joe Biden to power.
