Many Palestinian civilians were killed in an Israeli strike on an UNRWA school. According to the UN, 6,000 civilians had taken refuge there. The United States wants the Israeli military to make more information about this operation public.

All were killed in the UNRWA school, targeted by an Israeli strike. “The people were sleeping, they were civilians, they had fled their homes and came here to hide”, testifies a resident. According to the UN agency, the building housed 6,000 displaced Palestinians. A shelter for civilians fleeing the fighting, but above all a hiding place for members of Hamas, according to the Israeli army.

“Our precise strike was based on concrete intelligence from multiple sources. Terrorists inside this school were planning further attacks against Israelis, some of which were imminent.”, summarized the IDF spokesperson. For its part, the United States called on Israel to be transparent about this strike. According to the UN, 180 UNRWA structures have been hit, causing the deaths of 450 people since the start of the war.
