(Warsaw) Several hundred people took part in a demonstration for peace in Ukraine on Sunday in Warsaw, protesting against “a possible new Russian aggression” while a rally was also held in Madrid.

The demonstrators displayed Ukrainian flags, and in Warsaw they also came with Polish national colors, a European flag and that of the Belarusian opposition.
“We are with Ukraine”, could be read on a banner waved in the rally in Warsaw or, on another, “Hands off Ukraine” while the crowd repeated the slogan “Putin in court!” “. The organizers said in a statement that they wanted to “express their opposition to a possible new Russian aggression against Ukraine”.
At the other end of the European Union, in Spain, around 500 people, many of them Ukrainians, also demonstrated in Madrid against Russia’s intention to invade Ukraine, shouting “Stop Putin “Say ‘yes’ to Ukraine”.
“We are all worried and we are afraid because we don’t know what will happen tomorrow,” explained a Ukrainian resident in Madrid, Ruslan Sendzyuk.
The West accuses Russian President Vladimir Putin of having massed 150,000 troops on the Ukrainian borders in recent weeks and of planning an invasion, which Russia is defending, accusing in return Ukraine of violating international agreements.
Moscow is calling for the withdrawal of Western forces deployed in Eastern Europe, particularly in Poland, since the collapse of the communist bloc in 1991.
