Air raid sirens sounded late Friday afternoon in several dozen towns in northwest Israel as the country prepares to celebrate Yom Kippur, with the Israeli army reporting “around 80 projectiles” fired from Lebanon.
Between 5:21 p.m. and 5:24 p.m., “around 80 projectiles” were identified above Israeli territory after crossing the border with Lebanon, a military statement said. Channel 12 (private) of Israeli television, which had already interrupted its programs in anticipation of Yom Kippur, returned to the air for a special edition of a few minutes, to report on these shootings.
