After 88 days of war, the fighting continues to be just as intense in Ukraine. On Russian territory, the fires of recruitment barracks are increasing. In the country, the army lacks arms and the reservists are pushed to enlist.

In the Siberian night, a Molotov cocktail attack. The author lines up the homemade bombs methodically. The target is symbolic: a recruiting office of the Russian army. Two suspects were arrested and remanded in custody for two months. And this case of vandalism is far from isolated. The local press counted twelve. But no information on the authors. Are they Russians protesting against the army or Ukrainian saboteurs?

The Russian army tries to recruit by all means: via social networks and local television propaganda on military equipment. In theory, only professional soldiers and volunteers go to the front. But in recruiting centers, reservists are summoned and encouraged to enlist. “People have the right not to report to recruitment centres. In the worst case, they risk paying a small fine. We can put pressure on them, but we cannot force them to go to the front”, says Sergei Krivenko, a Russian lawyer in exile. The latest Russian death toll on March 25 announced 1,300 dead, for kyiv it is 27,000.
