The most famous of marsupials, somewhat anthropoid, will return to the screens. It was in 1952 that readers became acquainted with the Marsupilami in “Spirou and the heirs”. An imaginary animal created by André Franquin, gifted draftsman, who worked at the time for the Spirou’s diary. Over the years, the animal that lives in the imaginary region of “Palombia” will be more and more appreciated by readers and will be entitled to its own comic strip. It was in 1987 that the designer Batem offered him his own adventures, helped by Franquin, in “The Tail of the Marsupilami”.
Between comics, then cartoons, the marsupial is so successful that some are trying to bring it to life on the big screen. The proof, with Alain Chabat and his film “On the Marsupilami’s trail” released in 2012. A comedy in which Dan Geraldo, “reporter in search of scoop who arrives in Palombia” as it recalls Allocinatedis accompanied by the local guide Pablito to reveal the existence of the famous animal so far imaginary.

Alain Chabat and Jamel Debbouze, already in the footsteps of the animal
For his project, Alain Chabat was accompanied by Jamel Debbouze (Pablito: editor’s note), but also Fred Testot, Lambert Wilson, Géraldine Nakache, or even Patrick Timsit. The film brought together 5,224,663 spectators for 12 weeks of operation, recall our colleagues. An honorable score but which did not overcome the critics. Indeed, many have expressed their disappointment with this adaptation of the comic strip which lacked humor for many.
