  • The bombings of the Russian army continued on many Ukrainian cities including Mariupol, where two “superpowered bombs” hit the port city on Tuesday, according to the authorities.
  • The 35-hour curfew continues until Wednesday in the capital Kyiv, as 65 residents have died in shelling since the conflict began, according to the mayor.





  • The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, said he was ready to “try to address everything that upsets and displeases Russia” to “stop the war”.
  • The Pentagon said on Tuesday that the Russian army was suffering from coordination and supply problems, and that the Ukrainians were gaining ground, particularly in the south of the country.
  • Moscow will use nuclear weapons in Ukraine only in the event of an “existential threat” against Russia, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told CNN International on Tuesday.
  • Westerners are expected to announce “new sanctions against Russia” on Thursday and strengthen existing ones, a national security adviser to the US president said.
