War in Ukraine: Volodymyr Zelensky wants the creation of an air shield to protect against Russian attacks

The American capital is indeed protected by NASAMS systems (Norwegian Advanced Surface to Air Missile System). For Ukraine, it would be a shield. In 10 seconds, these missiles detect by radar the arrival of enemy cruise missiles, and will destroy them in full flight, creating a bubble of protection. According to the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense, 43 of the 84 Russian cruise missiles were intercepted on Monday. For its anti-aircraft defense, Ukraine has small portable missile launchers and S300 batteries, of former Soviet manufacture. It is in the process of receiving more advanced systems, German IRIS, and the United States has committed to delivering at least eight NASAMS batteries.
