19/20 info takes stock of the information from the last 24 hours in the conflict between Ukraine and Russia.

Ukraine is experiencing its 631st day of conflict, Friday November 17. From tributes all over the streets of Kiev to the impact of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict on Ukraine’s military supplies, including American aid for Ukrainian energy networks, here is what should be remembered from this day.

Image of the day: in the streets of kyiv, omnipresent tributes

On Independence Square in kyiv, thousands of small Ukrainian flags were planted by residents. Each represents a soldier who died at the front. War is everywhere, including in the capital. In the neighboring streets, hundreds of photos of civilians killed during the war. A little further on, on a wall, there are also texts which summarize the life of a brother or a father. Ukrainians call it the “book of the dead.”

Quote of the day: “Our supplies of artillery shells have diminished because of the war in Israel”

Our supplies of artillery shells have diminished because of the war in Israel.”said the Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky. According to him, Israel has ordered thousands of shells and ammunition from foreign manufacturers, which are the same ones that supply Ukraine. As a result, production is no longer keeping up, demand is too high and Ukrainian stocks are decreasing. Ukraine is worried. On the front, soldiers could quickly run out of ammunition.

Today’s figure: 460 million euros in American aid for energy networks

The United States announced aid of 460 million euros to strengthen energy networks. As temperatures get lower and lower, Ukraine fears Russian attacks on its networks, as was the case last year, when thousands of people found themselves without electricity and heat. American aid should make it possible to intervene quickly on repair systems on these networks in the event of an attack.
