Spotlight on the west of the country
The humanitarian situation in the besieged city of Mariupol, constantly shelled, continues to worsen, as a new humanitarian convoy had to turn around on Sunday.
In western Ukraine, Russian forces shelled the Yavoriv military base, killing 35 and injuring 134, according to the region’s governor. Ivano-Frankivsk airport was also targeted by a Russian strike, according to the mayor of the city.

Strikes and explosions
In the south, at least 11 people were killed in strikes on the city of Mykolaiv, according to the region’s governor.
In the Donetsk region, in the east of the country, a monastery was hit by strikes which injured around 30 people, according to the Ukrainian authorities.
An American journalist and documentarian was killed and another was shot and wounded in Irpin, near Kyiv.
