Faced with the Russian army and its tanks, Ukrainian civilians continue to show unfailing resistance. With their bare hands, they try to contain the invasion, despite the unequal balance of power.

AT Melitopol in southern Ukraine, a Russian convoy is stopped by unarmed civilians. Facing the rebellious crowd, a soldier shoots in the air. Then a truck approaches, tries to force the passage, honks, but nothing helps. With their bare hands, the crowd pushes back the tank, which ends up backing up. Scenes of resistance that take place every day in Ukraine, illustration of a people ready to do anything to defend their country, despite fear.

Ukrainians armed with courage

In an eastern town, Russian soldiers are insulted in the middle of the crowd. “You are shame, get out!”, we throw at them. But the soldiers give the mayor an ultimatum: either they surrender or they destroy the city. The locals approve of a fight. However, often, these fights are made with unequal weapons. In Enerhodar (Ukraine), hundreds of residents erected tires to prevent the Russians from entering the city. “I am grateful and amazed at the courage and heroism we are showing. We came out unarmed and we built a human chain of more than a kilometer”, says a Ukrainian. Still, it won’t be enough for this time.
