This program aims, among other things, to speed up procedures for members of the Ukrainian community under the family reunification program, which allows them to sponsor the reception of a relative. The special program will accommodate extended family members, Quebec confirmed Thursday, which is in line with an announcement from Ottawa made in the morning.

Quebec also promises to process temporary immigration applications more quickly. This applies as much to workers as it does to students.

While Ottawa has announced the establishment of an open work permit for Ukrainian nationals, Quebec is announcing that they will be able to benefit from certain assistance services for access to health care, research housing, getting a driver’s license, enrolling children in school or daycare. The Minister of Labor and Immigration, Jean Boulet, specifies that 95 organizations throughout Quebec will be able to offer support to Ukrainian nationals.

Quebec is also committed to speeding up the processing of applications for the renewal of work or study permits from Ukrainians who are already in Quebec.
