It is Independence Day in Ukraine and this date of Wednesday August 24 marks six months since the start of the war. “Overall, the bombings were more numerous than usual. For example, in this city of Kharkiv where I am, I have counted since this morning fifteen aerial alerts”reveals Maryse Burgot duplex from Kharkiv. Thus, the Ukrainian air defense managed to prevent these numerous bombardments.
Despite the efforts of the Ukrainian defense, the authorities could not prevent the death of an 11-year-old child. The shelling could intensify further next night. “What we fear is for the night to come even if, overall, after six months of war, the Ukrainians are used to all these bombardments”describes the journalist.
