War in Ukraine: musicians meet Ukrainian soldiers, to escape from the front line

They played in the most extreme places. In Ukraine, music can be heard as the landscape is destroyed by bombs. In a vehicle, dozens of badges, these are all the insignia of the military battalions in front of which the musicians played. A day, they have an appointment with the gunners. “Come on whoopseveryone turns off their geolocation and goes into airplane mode“, launches a soldier. Nicolas is the founder of this traveling troupe. Faced with a well-established spectacle, the soldiers take advantage of it.

A moving love song

“It relaxes us. We forget the fights for a moment. It’s a real breath of fresh air, a bit like the scent of civilian life”says a spectator. Also, they are entitled to a show with the oldest instrument in Ukraine on a moving love song. “It’s a bit like I was at home, when I listened to this song with my loved ones, with my wife. It gives me a feeling of well-being and fullness”adds another. The musician says she was afraid to go to the front. She was once in the military hospital and it was by seeing the reaction of the soldiers to the music that she decided to go to the front.
