Ukraine accuses Russia of bombing route taken by International Atomic Energy Agency experts (IAEA) to reach the nuclear power plant Zaporizhia (Ukraine)Thursday, September 1. The journalist Anais Hanquetin live from Zaporizhiaexplains having seen them leave their hotel “to get to this plant around 7:15 a.m. local time”. “Just before, the Director General of the IAEA took the floor to explain to us that he had had to discuss with the local authorities to check the security conditions of this journey”continues the journalist.
“They have about two hours left to drive to Energodar (Ukraine). It is in this city, precisely, that the plant is located. A dangerous, perilous road. You have to cross what is called the gray zone It is this area between the Ukrainian territories and the territories occupied by Russia, an area which is regularly bombarded, and again this morning, in the area of Zaporizhia, there were bombardments. (…) Once there, the IAEA experts hope to stay for several days”concludes the journalist.
